DIY Floral Facial Serum

Facial Serums have a light silky feel and are used before creams and lotions. They give a concentrated dose of skin benefits in just a few drops. This floral facial serum not only smells great, it hydrates and soothes the skin too. This recipe is simple and a good one to start with if you are just beginning to explore DIY Skincare.

This Floral Facial Serum contains:
2 TBSP Aloe Vera Gel
1 TBSP Vegetable Glycerine
1/2 tsp Sweet Almond Oil
2 drops Lavender Essential Oil*
2 drops Geranium Essential Oil*

* We suggest you start off with the recommended amount of essential oil that is listed in the recipe. You can then adjust it to your body and skin type after you are familiar with how the oils react to your skin. Essential oils are potent and can irritate skin if used improperly.

Ingredients & Benefits
I chose Geranium and lavender essential oils for their fresh floral scents and skin benefits. They can treat a variety of skin concerns such as dry skin, acne, redness, wrinkles and the list goes on.

You can use a variety of carrier oils for this recipe. Sweet Almond Oil was used because not only can it protect the skin against sun damage but can actually reverse damage.

Aloe Vera Gel is a lightweight moisturizer with many benefits. It can soothe inflamed skin, treat acne and fights aging.

Vegetable Glycerine (Glycerin) is one of my favorite ingredients to add to facial products, hydrating mists and body washes. This clear hypoallergenic liquid can be used on a range of skin types without worry.

Vitamin E oil can brighten and even skin tone. It can help you get rid of those dark spots and fade unwanted scars.
