DIY Honey Citrus Body Wash

I just love the scent of raw honey and citrus fruits together. I love them even better when they come together in a luxurious body wash. The following body wash lathers up REALLY well and has a sweet and bright scent. I would advise you to use raw organic honey or the manuka variety in this recipe. Those are the ones that are "oh, so good" for your skin.

This Honey Citrus Body Wash contains:
1/2 Cup Liquid Castile Soap
4 TBSP Raw Organic Honey (Manuka or other)
1 tsp Avocado oil
1 tsp Jojoba oil
1 tsp Vegetable Glycerine
1 tsp Vitamin E Oil (Optional - for dry skin types)
10 drops Lemon Essential Oil*
10 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil*
5 drops Grapefruit Pink Essential Oil*

* We suggest you start off with the recommended amount of essential oil that is listed in the recipe. You can then adjust it to your body and skin type after you are familiar with how the oils react to your skin. Essential oils are potent and can irritate skin if used improperly.
Ingredients & Benefits
I chose all the citrus essential oils I could find in the Decorate You lab for their energizing scents. They contain limonene which is a powerful anti-oxidant. Keep your body wash closed tight to keep in the benefits and prevent oxidation. It is advisable to go easy on the citrus essential oils if you find yourself out in the sun a lot. Using the amount listed in the recipe is a great starting point and remember to always use a sunscreen when you are out underneath the sun (that round death-ray machine in the sky).

Honey sounds like the last thing you would want to put on your skin to get it clean since it is sweet and sticky. On the contrary, honey is a great cleanser for smooth and clear skin. Raw Organic Honey is gentle enough to be used as a facial cleanser on its own.

I used avocado and jojoba oils in this recipe. Avocado oil is moisturizing and contains Vitamins A & E. Jojoba oil was used since its great for almost all skin types and has quite the long list of benefits. You may substitute the oils in this recipe for the carrier oils of your choice or what you have on hand. Olive oil would work great.

Vegetable Glycerine (Glycerin) is one of my favorite ingredients to add to facial products, hydrating mists and body washes. This clear hypoallergenic liquid can be used on a range of skin types without worry.

Vitamin E oil can brighten and even skin tone. It can help you get rid of those dark spots and fade unwanted scars. Add this to your body wash if you have skin that is more on the dry side.

This Honey Citrus Body Wash also doubles as a shaving aid and is gentle enough for all skin types. I hope you try it out.
